今日覚えたいキーフレーズは、アナが、故郷から出てきたペネロピと、新しい友だちについて話すシーンからピックアップ♪
Penelope: So, Anna, is it hard to make friends in D.C.?（それでアナ、DCで友達を作るのは難しい？）
Anna: At first it was hard. But now, Marsha is a good friend. And there’s Pete. Of all the people I know in D.C., Pete is the most serious and also the silliest.（最初は難しかった。でも今は、マーシャがいい友達。そしてピート。DCの知り合いの中でいちばんまじめでおかしな人よ）
Penelope: He sounds … interesting.（彼…おもしろそうね）

今日のキーフレーズ
“of all the people” は「すべての人の中で（もっとも）」「だれよりも」のようなニュアンスを表すフレーズ。”of all the people I know in D.C.” で「ワシントンDCで知っている人の中で」という意味になります。
また、日常会話で非常によく使われる “sound great （nice）” は、「すごく良さそうね」 という意味。「おもしろそうね」は “sound interesting” 、「ひどそうね」は “sound awful” などと表現できます♪
